Die Lufthansa-Cateringtochter LSG Sky Chefs verliert einen ihrer treuesten Kunden. Der Ferienflieger Condor will seine Bordverpflegung nach über 50 Jahren Zusammenarbeit künftig vom Konkurrenten Gate Gourmet beziehen, wie ein Sprecher der Thomas-Cook-Tochter am 13. Januar einen entsprechenden Vorabbericht des Nachrichtenmagazins „Der Spiegel“ bestätigte.
Die Umstellung solle noch in diesem Jahr vollzogen werden. Condor und LSG hatten sich nicht auf ein Preismodell einigen können, sodass laut „Spiegel“ die Lufthansa-Gesellschaft einen hohen zweistelligen Millionenbetrag an Umsatz verliert. Der weltgrößte Flugzeug-Caterer LSG hat im Jahr 2015 bei externen Kunden knapp 2,4 Milliarden Euro erlöst. Wegen der sinkenden Nachfrage im Zuge der Billigflug-Modelle will das Unternehmen allein in Deutschland 1700 Stellen streichen und Teile der Produktion nach Tschechien verlegen. Konkurrent Gate Gourmet gehört zum chinesischen Mischkonzern HNA
