“Cohesion” – The guiding principle of Rheingau Music Festival 2022

The 35th festival summer from 25.6. to 3.9.2022 will take place under the guiding principle “Cohesion”. It is intended to bring the music back to the audience in full radiance and in the usual atmospheric manner.

Violinist Julia Fischer and pianist Jan Lisiecki will be featured as focus artists in several concerts of the Rheingau Music Festival at once. Lufthansa takes off with polar explorers to a 13,700-kilometer Nonstop Journey

On Sunday, January 31, 2021, a Lufthansa Airbus A350-900 will take off for the longest nonstop flight in Lufthansa history: 13,700 kilometers from Hamburg to the military base Mount Pleasant in the Falkland Islands. On board there will be scientists and crew members of the research vessel “Polarstern”.

Clear Air Turbulences – are on the rise

Clear Air Turbulences, short CAT, which occur completely unexpectedly, increase. The tricky thing about it is that no pilot, radar, satellite or meteorologist can predict a CAT. The turbulence comes from nowhere. According to atmospheric scientist Paul Williams from the University of Reading (England), this phenomenon is likely to occur much more frequently in the future, because climate change not only affects the ground, but also the altitude in a special way.

“Flight shame” – expression of a bad conscience

Air traffic has come under fire in the discussion about climate protection, also through “Fridays for Future”. Among other things, French President Emmanuel Macron called for kerosene to be taxed throughout Europe.
