The prelude to the digital concert series 2020 is the concert “All about Mozart” at Eberbach Monastery. A rousing program unfolds in the Eberbach Monastery complex, showing the great genius of Viennese Classicism in all its facets. The soloists are Ana de la Vega, Bomsori Kim, Nils Mönkemeyer and Sarah Willis, the Cuban band Sarahbanda and the Württembergisches Kammerorchester Heilbronn under the direction of Benjamin Reiners.
For the second concert, the US-American organist Cameron Carpenter has set up his “International Touring Organ” in the Asbachgasse in Rüdesheim.
The young pianist Claire Huangci puts Ludwig van Beethoven in the center of her recital. The Hall of Mirrors at Johannisberg Palace is a very special place that is not normally open to the public.
In the bold sound experiment “New Eyes on Baroque” the soprano Jeanette Köhn, an exquisite jazz ensemble around the star trombonist Nils Landgren and the classically oriented vocal ensemble Voktett Hannover meet to put well-known works by Bach and his colleagues into a new context. The special atmosphere was created by the Lutherkirche in Wiesbaden, which is dominated by Art Nouveau.
For the fifth concert under the title “Spain’s Strings”, the three Spaniards Maria Dueñas, Pablo Ferrandez and Pablo Sainz Villegas united to form a trio exclusively for us. Violin, violoncello and guitar – in this extraordinary line-up, these exceptional artists bring the sound of the Jagdschloss Platte in Wiesbaden to life. Musically and optically a real treat.
“Despite Corona, we were able to put together a fantastic program for the digital Rheingau Music Festival,” says Marsilius Count of Ingelheim, Managing Director of the Rheingau Music Festival. Together with Deutsche Telekom, he said, this was a success. jwm
